Beautiful building, the layout of the place is not good, too many small rooms to socialise, buffet laid out almost in the open, the bar to too far from the dance floor which separates a wedding as most men would rather be in the bar. Very disappointed We were only there for an evening reception and that was enough for me.

Leez Priory is a beautiful venue, but the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it was difficult to find and there were no brown signs in close proximity. Once there, you will see one of the best wedding venues in Essex. My steel drum band covered a lovely wedding at the venue and the sound just bounces off the 16th century walls. The grounds are well maintained and great for wedding photography.

I hosted my wedding here a couple of weeks ago. The venue looks beautiful in the photos. The venue really does lend itself to any outside wedding. The head waitress and staff were fantastic. The food was very good.

    The only disappointing factors were:
    – the guests couldn’t hear anything throughout the ceremony.
    – we were told the morning of the wedding that a wall had fallen down which meant our Best Man’s room wasn’t available and they were put up in a Holiday Inn 15minutes from the venue. The venue supplied a taxi from there to the hotel, and a staff member picked them up from the hotel and bought them back for breakfast the next morning. The venue refused to refund the money for their room even though the cost of the Holiday Inn was a lot less than the price of a room at Leez Priory.
    – unfortunately we noticed halfway through our day that the chair sashes were not the same colour we had originally chosen, we had chosen pink and the sashes were peach. At first our wedding coordinator agreed with us but then they backtracked and said the sashes
were the same as the sample but looked different in different lights.

These were only little things and didn’t detract from the beautiful day we had. Everything else went perfectly and we were overall pleased with our choice.

Ps, the photos online don’t actually do the venue justice, it is so much more break taking in person.

A friend got married at Leez Priory and it was amazing.
It isn’t easy to find as the SatNav doesn’t understand it’s location (wasn’t the only one with that issue) but once you let go of technology and follow the signs its easy to find. Both grounds and buildings are perfectly maintained, staff was friendly and the food most excellent.

I attended Leez Priory as a guest and was very impressed. It’s a fabulous wedding venue, stunning location, good food and the staff without exception, were all helpful, friendly and extremely professional. We had a wonderful day of celebrations and will have many happy memories too. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone considering it for their wedding.
